Life is full of juxtapositions. We're basically reeling from coast-to-coast over a multiple-fatality crash on a rural road in Saskatchewan, where a transport truck struck a bus full of young (late teens+) minor hockey players, killing 15, including their coach, assistant coach, statistician, and driver. Apparently the transport driver was not injured. I've been driven to tears on and off, especially when watching the news.
And yet - and yet - and yet ... today was Holy Humour Sunday at church (following a European tradition). Still, it was important to be with family (the largest, weirdest collection of people I've ever met). And to laugh (and groan) as a congregation, especially at some of Rev. Deana's zingers (including an anti POTUS joke but, then, that's okay, because she's American).
It was another stupidly cold day. Even the sun decided to take a hike mid morning. I'd brought my capelet to be mended by Barb-of-the-magic-hands and I'm now snuggled under it. Writing my review was relatively easy and quick, especially as I didn't rewatch the service. For some reason, we're having problems with FB Live (hence, no posts at all) and the YouTube feed is acting up.
I finally remember what I'd forgotten yesterday: what a delight it is to turn the monitor on and have it Ready.To.Go. Now it's time for tackling the colour issue. I had a scathingly brilliant idea. I think I'm going to ... Read the Manual! Who knows? It might just work. Earlier, I had just enough energy to watch the news. I'll watch the other programs tomorrow morning, after I've had some healing sleep - anything against this joint-gnawing cold weather. At least I had something to cheer about for dinner: I discovered a lost-and-found package of fancy paté in the fridge and had it with some Brie (and a vodka Bellini) for dinner. I'm very woozy now. Let's hope for good sleep.
