You don't have to remind me. I know I've fallen away from the path ... but I have GOOD excuses. Namely, Thanksgiving dinner which I just put in a resurrected post. And unpacking even more boxes that John SO helpfully stacked under the dining room table two weeks ago when he and I moved the dining furniture and the couch.
I can now waltz (well, limp) from room to room to room and get royally dizzy (dizzier than normal, that is). Well, when he moved the boxes under the table, I had to crawl under and retrieve same boxes, because I needed stuff for the special dinner. So I dragged them ALL out and sorted them. Book cartons went into the library. Clutter (tchochkes) went next to the VHS tapes and boxes with papers went next to the bedroom door. M and I also volunteered at Casa Loma (that's OUR honest-to-goodness castle in the middle of the city) for the Quilt Project (for breast cancer). Oh, I wish I had oodles of money, so I could buy some of them.
With Thanksgiving over, I collapsed on Tuesday and did not do a thing. Ate leftover lamb for the rest of the week. And, today, John came over to put together my filing cabinet – except I couldn't find the bag of screws or the instructions. Oh, well, next time. So, instead, we took out the old stereo system and installed the new one. And put together the new lamps. That meant that more boxes went out to recycling. Then we went out to an Indian restaurant in the neighbourhood. We had lamb and chicken biryani. Eggplant and potatoes. Veg pakoras. Naan. Mixed pickles. Raita. And an Indian beer each. I brought most of my food home, so I'll have a yummy brekkie tomorrow.
Now, I'm back off to the living room to listen to my new stereo and enjoy. And hope I don't have to spank the computer – or LJ – for misbehaving.
Talk to you soon.
Promise.
Now that things are almost normal.
And calm.
And perhaps I can start writing again.
Well ... it's so cold, that may be my main entertainment.
Hugs from the formerly lost and found Helenka
